Access to ACN Animal Care Facility and equipment is regulated on two possible access levels:

Level 1 (general users): access to all enclosure areas and equipment, except MOGM rooms;

Level 2 (general and MOGM users): access to all enclosure areas and MOGM premises.

Before accessing the Facility, all users are required to complete the general safety training provided by UNITN through an online procedure:

•             the "Course of Health and Safety at Work - General"   at the following link https:///didatticaonline.unitn.it/ateneo/ for teachers, researchers, postgraduates, ( https://infostudenti.unitn.it/en/safety-training-for-students , for PhD students and students). The course is provided by UNITN and has unlimited validity; if not already completed, the completion certificate must be entered into CLARA by the user;

•             the "medium risk" Security Course. The course is provided by UNITN and has a validity of 5 years; If not already completed, the completion certificate must be entered into CLARA by the user.

In addition, all new users can access the ACN Animal Care Facility and/or use the available equipment only after they have completed appropriate specific safety training provided by Facility personnel (ACN safety training Animal Care) aimed at educating all users about facility-specific security procedures. Passing the ACN Safety Training Animal Care must be proven in CLARA by the Facility Manager and is valid for 5 years.

Certain premises of the ACN Animal Care Facility are permitted to use MOGM levels 1 and 2. Access to these premises is subject to a further training meeting on the specific safety of these areas (ACN - MOGM safety training). Passing the ACN - MOGM Safety Training Animal Care must be certified in CLARA by the Facility Manager and does not expire.

Level-1 authorization (general user)

The level-1 access authorisation allows the researcher to access the facility premises and equipment, except for the MOGM premises.

Level-1 authorisation is granted subject to the general requirements described above.

The researcher is required to re-undergo safety training in the ACN Animal Care Facility (ACN safety training) for the renewal of the authorisation. If the ACN Safety Training Animal Care is again passed, the Facility Manager must document this in CLARA.

Level 2 authorization (general and MOGM user)

The level-2 access authorization allows the researcher to access the facility premises and equipment, including the MOGM premises.

Level-2 approval is granted subject to the general requirements described above.

Access to the Facility may be suspended in the event of declared health conditions or risk situations, as required by current legislation on safety at work.

In order to ensure that the welfare of animals is always protected, and to ensure that their health needs are always met, access to the enclosure shall be guaranteed without interruption and without time constraints, though, for research activities outside opening hours in the enclosure laboratories, see the ACN Access Rules Manual.
